As the Nintendo Switch 2’s launch nears, images of the anticipated handheld gaming console have surfaced online, offering a glimpse into its design.

These leaked renders seem to confirm various rumors that the next-gen Nintendo Switch will feature a larger display, redesigned controllers, and a more refined overall look. Additionally, the images reveal a relocated USB port and a mysterious new button on the device.
New Look for the Nintendo Switch 2 and Joy-Cons
Tipster Steve Hemmerstoffer (@OnLeaks), in collaboration with 91Mobiles, has shared detailed design renders of the alleged Nintendo Switch 2. The images showcase the console in a sleek black color, with an evolved design compared to the original 2017 model. Unlike the first Switch, which was available with red and blue Joy-Cons, this new version is seen with black controllers.
The Joy-Cons on the Switch 2 also have unique color accents: blue under the left thumbstick and orange under the right one. The button layout remains similar to previous models, though there’s a new button placed next to the familiar home button. Additionally, the color accents are visible on the areas where the Joy-Cons connect to the console, which are hidden when the controllers are attached, as anticipated by earlier leaks.
Design Tweaks and New Features
The leaked images further reveal several design changes to the console itself. The USB Type-C port has been repositioned to the top of the device, next to a 3.5mm headphone jack. Reports also suggest that Nintendo may have redesigned the stand used for tabletop mode, potentially improving its stability and functionality.
Additionally, the bottom of the device houses the docking mechanism, while the left side features a slot for game cartridges. Overall, these updates signal a more mature and refined design for the Nintendo Switch 2, positioning it as a significant step forward from its predecessor.
